As is the case with many settlements, both large and small, people have historically settled near bodies of water. Lampang is no different, as the Wang River flows through the middle of the city, dividing it in half. Therefore, it is an important element of local attractions.

Near the river or on its banks there are such important places as Kad Kong Ta Night Market, Wat Koh Walukaram, Wat Phra Kaew Don Tao Suchadaram, Yang Dam, and Wang River Street Art.

There are also many restaurants on the river, and you can relax by walking along the promenade.

Since the topic of the article is about the river, it is impossible not to mention such structures as Ratsada Phisek Bridge, Suspension Bridge (Orange Bridge), and Black Bridge.

What else can you do on the Wang River?

One of the popular activities is fishing. When we walk near the river, we often see fishermen. During the dry season, the water level drops significantly, and in many places you can even walk from one bank to the other without any problems. It even allows fishermen to enter the water, which is knee-deep. Enthusiasts of this type of activity can try fishing in the river. Nevertheless, we recommend taking care of safety.

Another attraction is a boat trip. The pier is located on Pahmai Rd., about 600 m east of Ratsada Phisek Bridge on the north side of the river. The boat is small and can accommodate a dozen people. It is comfortable, and you can enjoy a leisurely cruise.
