Kelang Nakhon Bridge – some information about this structure
There is little information about who and when built the bridge. This structure is not as popular as, for example, Ratsada Phisek Bridge or Black Bridge, but it is important in terms of communication in the city. It can be said that it connects the old part of the city with the new. It is like a gateway to the ancient part of Lampang – the city was formerly called Kelang Nakhon.
The characteristic element of the bridge is the gate, the style of which refers to the old architecture of northern Thailand. In the evenings, it is illuminated and is therefore a great point for taking photos.
What is interesting about this bridge is that during the New Year, many monks can be seen here collecting alms offered to them by the people of Lampang. It is an opportunity for the community to gain merit in this way.
There is also exercise equipment available at Kelang Nakhon Bridge. It is a good idea for people who love physical activity. While walking along the promenade towards Ratsada Phisek Bridge, you can see Wang River Street Art.
Location
The bridge is located between two sub-districts (Hua Wiang and Wiang Nuea) and streets (Tha Maoh and Khelangnakhorn).
